Pronuncia

Terms and conditions

Last updated: 24 August 2026

1. Who is selling to you

Pronuncia (the "Service") is provided by Manuel Cárdenas, a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom, of 71 High Street, Dundee DD1 1SD, contact email masdemanu@gmail.com ("we", "us").

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited as merchant of record. This means that, for the purchase itself, your contractual counterparty is Paddle: they issue the invoice, collect any tax due in your country, and are what appears on your card statement. By subscribing you also accept their buyer terms.

2. What the Service is

Pronuncia is an extension for the Google Chrome browser that lets you practise reading aloud using text from web pages. The text advances as the browser's speech recogniser transcribes the expected words.

What it is not. The Service relies on Chrome's speech recognition, which reports which words it understood and does not produce a phonetic score. It is not a pronunciation assessment tool or a language certification, and must not be used as one. It is forgiving with strong accents and makes mistakes with proper nouns and technical terms.

3. Your account

To use the Service you need to sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for activity carried out from your account. You must be at least 16, or the minimum age required by the law of your country to consent to the processing of your data.

4. Free trial and subscription

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from "Manage subscription" inside the extension. Cancelling stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. For refunds, see the refund policy.

6. Price changes

We may change our prices. If a change affects you, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance at your account email, and the new price will apply from your next renewal. If you are not happy with it, you can cancel before that date.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

The text you practise on comes from the pages you visit. You are responsible for having the right to use it. We do not store it.

8. Availability

The Service depends on third-party components — Chrome's speech recogniser and voices, and the availability of our providers — which may change or stop working without notice. We do what is reasonable to keep it available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it, including liability for wilful misconduct, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Within that limit, our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it.

If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights, which prevail over any clause that contradicts them.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms seriously or repeatedly; if we do so for a reason not attributable to you, we will refund the unused portion of your period.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update them. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance at your account email. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of habitual residence.

13. Language

These terms are also published in Spanish for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, this English version prevails.
