Who handles your data

The data controller is Manuel Cárdenas, a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom, of 71 High Street, Dundee DD1 1SD. For anything about your data: masdemanu@gmail.com.

The most important thing, first

Pronuncia uses the speech recognition built into Google Chrome. That component belongs to the browser, not to us, and it works by sending your microphone audio to Google's servers to be transcribed. The same happens on any website that uses Chrome's dictation.

We never receive, listen to or store your audio. But we could not offer the Service without that component, and we think you should know before you subscribe rather than after. Google's handling of that data is governed by their privacy policy.

What data we handle

DataWhat forWhere it lives
Your email address and Google account identifier Identifying your account and knowing whether your licence is active Our database (Supabase)
Subscription status: plan, trial start date, end of period Granting or denying access Our database (Supabase)
Paddle customer and subscription identifiers Linking your account to your payments and opening the subscription portal Our database (Supabase)
Your preferences: language, speed, voice and strictness Remembering how you have the extension set up Your browser. Chrome syncs them across your devices. They never reach us.
Session and last licence check Keeping you signed in and not locking you out if you lose connection Your device only

What data we do NOT handle

We use no analytics, no trackers and no advertising cookies. We do not sell or share your data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising or to train models.

Legal basis

Who we share it with

ProviderWhat they receiveWhy
Google Your microphone audio; your email when you sign in; your preferences via Chrome sync Speech recognition, identity and browser sync
Supabase Your email and subscription status Hosting the database and the account system
Paddle Your payment and billing details Processing the charge as merchant of record and issuing the invoice

If you use a "remote" voice for the reference audio, the text of the word you click is sent to that voice's provider to be synthesised. The extension prefers local voices from your system whenever they exist, partly for this reason.

Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Those transfers rely on adequacy decisions or on standard contractual clauses, as the case may be.

How long we keep it

Your account data, for as long as your account is open. If you close it, we delete the data within 30 days, except billing records, which UK tax obligations require us to keep for 6 years.

Your rights

You can ask us to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to masdemanu@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), or to the authority in your country of residence.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16. If we find an account belonging to someone under that age without valid consent, we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we will update the date above and tell you at your account email before the changes take effect.

Language

This policy is also published in Spanish for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, this English version prevails.
